On January 30, 1938 during the spanish civil war, Franco's aviation conducted a hard bombing on Barcelona. 42 people were killed in this square, San Felipe Neri's square. Most of them were children.

The victims were running to take refuge in the church when the bomb fell. The facade of the temple still has signs of shrapnel impacts. this wall has not been restored till then. It is an absent presence of the past pain. A scar.

In 2007 the Slovenian artist Iztok Holc chose the same wall to perform the piece that was part of the "Crossing places: Crossed sensory maps of European cities" project. Holc made a mold of it. With patience and affection he figure out the formula with the perfect texture and appearance made by the most delicious chocolate and filled the mold to produce a beautiful and exquise edible piece.
Its necessary to digest the pain to find peace .
So i like very much not to found any photos of this work: the piece was shared among those attending the opening.
